Watercress and Winterbournes – Free talk
Wednesday 24th October, 7-9pm at the Candover Valley Club
Maggie Shelton, Community Catchments Officer with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust will be talking about the winterbourne and chalk stream of Candover Brook, including its ecology and threats. She will also be introducing the Heritage Lottery-funded project that Hampshire Wildlife Trust is delivering in partnership with local communities to project this special ecosystem: Watercress and Winterbournes.
The talk will focus on
- the special qualities of chalk streams and why we are passionate about them
- our community-led landscape partnership project
- how together we can keep the Upper Itchen healthy, robust and wonderful for generations to come
- how you can become directly involved in this exciting conservation project
