The Purefoy Arms in Preston Candover are having a party night on Friday 3rd June with live music in the garden from the Vapore Duo who will playing a selection of 1950′s music. Award-winning chef, Gordon Stott, will be providing a selection of his signature dishes for those dining. Contact the restaurant here.
A Jubilee “Big” lunch is being held for all Preston Candover village residents on Sunday 5 June on the field beside the village hall, where the Jubilee flag will be raised by the Scouts.
Tables will be set out around the field, but people are encouraged to bring their own or use picnic blankets to help create the festive atmosphere. A menu of pulled pork with rolls and apple sauce will be served, but residents are encouraged to bring salads and other accompaniments and drinks for themselves and friends. Cutlery and crockery will also be welcome additions as supplies may be limited.
A very large Jubilee cake is also being prepared of a reputed size being large enough to feed 200 people during the afternoon
Live music will also be played during the afternoon and children can enjoy the fun of a “bouncy” castle.
Over the weekend there will also be judging of the best dressed home and there are plans for a Treasure Hunt to be completed at anytime over the weekend. More details here.
The Rector, the Rev. David Chatell, will be presiding at a special Jubilee Thanksgiving service at St Mary’s Church in Preston Candover on Sunday 5 June, starting at 10.0am.
